Founder and Senior Sleep Consultant
My name is Melissa Perry and I am the luckiest wife to my incredible husband and mother of three amazing children. I have been surrounded with children all my life. I began my career as a babysitter at the tender age of ten helping my father care for my three little sisters. During college, I was a full time nanny and gained experience in all ages from infants to pre-teens.
The fifteen years of training I had with children definitely helped as I had my own. But even after all those years of experience, nothing came close to prepare me for the birth of my first child. By far the hardest challenge I had faced thus far in my life. I was exhausted mainly due to the lack of sleep and that's putting it lightly. The string of sleepless nights and exhausting days left me feeling anxious, irritable, and unsure about my ability of being a good mother.
And while there was support for other maternal challenges, birth coaches and lactation consultants, there was no one I could talk to about my daughter's ongoing sleep issues. While the sleep books offered advice, they didn’t offer support, encouragement or the invaluable feeling of connection with a person who can help and truly understand. Thank goodness I have a husband who helped as much as he could, but it was really up to me to figure a solution to the madness. We eventually did get our daughter to sleep through the night, but the process was grueling. I thought, “There has to be an easier way.”
I spent weeks devouring every book and website that had ever been written on babies sleep. The more I learned, the more I wanted to share this information with other parents. That's when I founded The Cradle Coach. Sleep is so important for your baby’s health and your mental well-being, yet no one teaches you about it. We felt there needed to be a go-to place for sleep support. Since then, I have received my certification as a Happiest Baby on the Block educator and a maternity and baby certified sleep consultant from the International Maternity and Parenting Institute. Thankfully there is hope! We can help you and your child get the sleep you need, giving you the support you need during this difficult time.
Senior Sleep Consultant
My name is Rachel Fiorello and I am the luckiest girl in the world to be the wife of my amazing husband and the mother of my two perfectly precious girls. I have loved children for as long as I can remember. From babysitting throughout my younger years to being a nanny in college, I have always found myself drawn to little ones. In fact, my first job out of college was working for a children's television network! I always looked forward to the day that I would become a mother.
I love my sleep and throughout both of my pregnancies, I was constantly told to enjoy it while I could. During my first pregnancy, a stranger even told me to remember the name, The Cradle Coach. I stored that into my memory - thank goodness!
My older daughter had been a great sleeper since she was born but my husband and I really didn't know where to start to get her onto a set routine or to get her to sleep through the night. I recalled my conversation with that lovely stranger I met months before and gave The Cradle Coach a call. The next night, at 3.5 months, my daughter was sleeping for 12 hours straight and napping like a champion during the day! Two and a half years later, we did the same thing for our younger daughter and she, too, has become an incredible sleeper (she definitely didn't start out that way like her sister did)!
I am honored to help other parents get the sleep both they and their little ones need. It can be hard to take that first step and I love being with them every step of the way.
South Florida Sleep Consultant
My name is Janelle Aubert and I’m forever grateful to be married to my best friend and favorite person in the world. Together we have a beautiful little girl who we are head over heals in love with.
I have 3.5 years of experience in customer services, 10 years of experience in working with children which includes teaching Preschool for 2 years, and nannying since I was just 13. I am one of six children in my family, so I have always been drawn to little ones and found so much joy in being around and loving on them. I believe children are truly a gift!
During the first few months with our first daughter, I found myself utterly exhausted. She was such a joy, but we created many habits that were taking a big toll on me mentally, emotionally, and physically. After a few meltdowns, I reached out to my dear friend Melissa and I am forever thankful that I did! Ever since we put into practice these amazing techniques and received the support we needed, our lives went from barely getting by to thriving. I never knew how much better it would be when all of us were getting the sleep we needed, especially our little one. When Melissa approached me about joining the team, I immediately accepted with gratefulness that I would be able to help others in the same way!
I am passionate about helping other parents experience what we have, and for little ones to get the rest their little bodies need. There is no greater reward than hearing how families have been impacted through The Cradle Coach.
New England Area Sleep Consultant
My name is Maeghan Spurr - wife to Ryan and Mom to Raeghan and Olivia. The four of us and our two puppies, Tuckerman and Madison, call New England home. I am the oldest of three kids and the oldest of my nineteen cousins. So, since I was one, kiddos have always been a passion of mine.
My parents always told me I never slept – they aren’t wrong – I’ve never really needed much sleep (sorry, Mum). When my daughter, Raeghan, started to really struggle with sleep, I started to look for answers and ways I could help her. My family said, “Oh she’s just like you – she doesn’t need much sleep.” I knew this wasn’t true. She was a great sleeper since the day she was born. I found The Cradle Coach and thank God for that! My husband and I agreed immediately we needed help – and we found that help at The Cradle Coach. After just a few nights of “sleep teaching” (as I like to call it), Raeghan’s sleep dramatically improved and today she is a fantastic sleeper. She is happier, her appetite increased, and she is finally getting the sleep she needs – we all are!
I refuse to believe that a child can’t be taught to be a great sleeper. My goal is to help other parents teach their babies how to sleep. You don’t have to settle for nights that never begin or end and naps that don’t exist. I love empowering parents and little ones towards healthier sleep and look forward to the opportunity to partner with you!
Lenny Ann Kucenski
Southwestern Region Sleep Consultant
My name is Lenny Ann Kucenski and I am excited to be part of the Cradle Coach Team. I grew up in Texas, spent some time living in Hawaii and Georgia and have now been settled in New Mexico for over 10 years. I’m looking forward to the opportunity to work with families in New Mexico and the surrounding states.
I’ve worked with children of various ages and their families throughout the course of my life. Early on, I taught tennis and swim lessons to toddlers and young children, worked as a nanny and worked in a daycare. After graduating from college with my degree in Education, I became a middle school teacher and then spent some time working at a wilderness program for troubled youth. Most recently, my experience has been in working with my own babies—I gave birth to twin girls in 2016!
After giving birth to my daughters, life changed significantly! I decided to take a break from my career and stay at home with my children. It has been one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences of my life! Twins come with their own unique set of challenges. At around 6 months, my husband and I were at our breaking point! I had been battling postpartum depression and my girls were only napping for 30 minutes at a time and not at the same time. At night, they were only sleeping around 8 hours and still waking up several times. It was taking us hours to get them to sleep at night. We were lucky to have dinner by 9 pm and fall into bed exhausted at night, only to wake up several hours later with one or both babies. Our girls were suffering because they weren’t getting the sleep they needed and we were suffering because we were beyond tired with no time to spend with one another, much less do anything else we enjoyed. This is where The Cradle Coach came in and saved us! One evening, through tears, I did some research and found The Cradle Coach. I sent them an email and immediately received a phone call. This was the beginning of what would become one of the best decisions we ever made.
The Cradle Coach helped us get our girls to sleep 11-12 hours at night and 3 hours during the day! Their temperaments improved significantly because they were getting the sleep they needed! My husband and I have had the quality time we needed to connect with one another in the evenings. Getting my own sleep was a key factor in overcoming postpartum depression and becoming the best mother I possibly can. I was so thankful for the gift of sleep that The Cradle Coach gave my family that I approached Melissa about joining the team. I’m very much looking forward to offering life changing support and guidance to other families, which will enable them to truly have sweeter dreams.
My name is Christina Tolsdorf. I have had a passion for children as far as I can remember. As a child myself, people would ask me what I wanted to be when I grew up and I would reply "babysitter"! This held true as I babysat through high school and became a full time nanny while I received my bachelor's degree in Psychology and masters degree in Mental Health Counseling.
While working as a nanny, the family I was working for hired a sleep consultant to help their four children (four under four) get on a sleep schedule so everyone could get the rest they all desperately needed. I watched the family transform from a chaotic, exhausted, struggling family into a well rested, thriving, and happy family. I now use these techniques to help all of the other families I work with and, without fail, each child has had sleep success.
As a counselor, I have realized that starting a family is one of the most important life change phases that can occur within the human experience and it deserves a lot of guidance and recognition. Sleep deprivation in adults can exaggerate stress, depression, and ability to perform everyday, necessary tasks. In children, sleep deprivation can impair cognitive development, health, moods, and much more.
I have combined my passion for working closely with children and families, as well as counseling, to help each and every one of my clients achieve their happiest and healthiest lives. I became a Certified Infant & Child Sleep Consultant from the Family Sleep Institute and have been working with families ever since. Along with education and understanding, you will receive my unconditional and nonjudgmental support through this challenging time.
